Thank you very much all you kind people of Threadless and to those who commented (and especially you 3-5 givers). This came out pretty quick, I guess about 40 minutes or so. Idea instantly popped out when I was thinking about uncommon animals and their weirdnesses. As you can see, very simple process, drawing, vectorizing drawing, coloring, lights and finally, the halftones.

Thank you once again! (Please, excuse my lame english)

On a technical note, I always wondered... when people vectorize their line work, do they colour it in Illustrator or Photoshop? Do you also vectorize the halftones? If you move the file to colour it in Photoshop do you keep the line work as vector?

sorry, that's a lot of questions. I'm not very adept at illustrator so i'm trying to compile tips.

thank you very much

opifan64: everything is vector, even the coloring and the halftones. when you're vectorizing an object you may do it with/without ignoring the white, if not, all the white space in (example) octopus is ready to be precisely colored. it's all in (AI) Object - Live trace - Tracing options.

I purchased this and the 'ink' part behind the octopus washed off the first time it was washed, so now it's just three random octopussies. I no longer wear it as I get sick of trying to explain what it used to be. Otherwise, cute but extremely disappointing.

This is my favorite shirt in my wardrobe. The ink part faded on mine too, but I still love it and wear it all the time. I wish I had a spare for when this one wears out!
