Please see my previous posts about this for comparison- but how does this one work? (on maroon this time, for fun.) I might need to adjust the head, but what I'm worried about is : does anything look worse than it could, does anything look "off", is anything unclear, or weird-looking?

Any comments are REALLY appreciated.

there are no motion lines conveyed, for one ... you've done a pretty nice job with the string ... the puppet, you should either give him a nose, or not . right now, it's just like a bump. The hand needs more contour lines and the position of the hand doesn't seem right ... I mean, it doesn't appear that the puppet just ripped the handle from the dude's hand ...

Give that puppet some character. Right now its just so plain. Also I know you've changed up the puppets pose, but it still needs a little bit of work, google search tug a war or take a picture of one of your buddies pulling on a tree branch or an elephants trunk. Also the fingernails kinda bug me for some reason. Good concept just keep tweaking it until your satisfied.

i actually like the puppet's positioning on the khaki version below the latest version. this is a good design.

Try it with the... cross thing still in the hand. From the looks of the string and how far the cross thing has fallen, the scene looks like it's taken place maybe 2 seconds after the thing's been dropped. The puppet would probably be a little closer to the ground by now, not still standing. I don't know if that makes any sense, but it just looks like the physics are a little off.

Hmm. It's good.

However I really liked your drawing style in I'm So Wasted and the monster ones.

lose the nails on the hand (don't even think you need the hand though) and the nose (?) on the puppet, just an oval head would suffice.

the puppet is supposed to be pulling on the lines but the lines are slack... is that what you are implying, the puppets fight is futile? mmm... it works for me and I don't think I'd like to see the lines taut, I like the curved/u-shaped design.

Sorry I didn't read ANYTHING in this post so take that in consideration (I have to go like right now) but since he's pulling it, and the hands not holding it, it EXTREMELEY looks like the handle thingy is floating in mid-air. If anything they should be straight and the hand could still be holding it, would still get the point across. If you really don't want the hand holding it, figure it out. Cuz right now there's so much slack in the strings, but the little dude is REALLY pullin. You know what I mean. later

ok, I've decided that I'm going to just finish up the dropping handle version as I see fit, then make a hand holding the crossbar version, because I've had this same 'floating in midair' comment about a million times and there isn't a good way to fix it, as I can see... if I think of one I'll do it.
