Scoring ended early?

So, I went out of town the day my entry for the Pre-Loved contest got approved. When I got back (3 days later) scoring had ended already and it merely said "Scoring ended early."

It kind of upset me because I didn't get a chance to promote it at all and only got a few votes. I'm glad it got approved and everything (first sub), but I would like to know some possible reasons behind the scoring ceasing so soon.

Does scoring end when the contest ends? I thought it got 7 days no matter what.

Did Threadless just find their winners already and simply stop scoring on all other designs?

Would they stop scoring early if the current scores were too low or too few?

Just a few possible reasons I came up with. Any ideas?

I think the most common reason for a design ending early is that it got low scores in the first 24 hours of voting.
