need some advice

Hi Folks
Need some advice on this. I'm kinda stuck here, it needs something to bg. Submitted to critiques first but you know all the '' it's great check out mine '' comments and blah blah. So it's 80's mash-up and also a tribute to Transformers. I got Ghettobot as name but open to name suggestions too. 5 colors on slate or teal.

This is pretty sweet. The shadow being the same color used in the bot isn't working. There is an 8 color limit (unless they use simulated process with removes the color limit)... so another color for the shadow won't hurt.

If you could incorporate a logo... like the transformers logo... but maybe use music notes for the eyes or something? That might tie in the mashup better. This kind of stuff will either do great or horrible on here... it is kind of a crap shoot.

I would definitly say the blue works much better than the grey, i dont think a background is super necessary, keeping it simpler gives it more of a retro feel

@Resistance: Mmm the logo idea is great, might use an Autobot logo made of a cassette and throw in some pause/play symbols in it.
@Colin: Yeah i don't like a bg on everything but it really does need something.
