you should make the hair extend gradually.. since the head has center placement the hair extending downward on both sides of the shirt... to create a wrap design ... kind of like an arrow..
I was going to do that with the hair, but I had an submission rejected for doing that in a previous design (citing the 16x16 limitations). I think if the design is printed a little larger it could have the same effect. Cheers for the thoughts, though.
not sure about color.. the original had redish accents in it.. and my friend you did the tattoo told me with my skin pigment... it wouldn't be a good idea... i like it the way it is now... perhaps i will add something around it.. not sure...
Excellent, mate. I like it as is, my mate's is only 2 colours and he's white as a ghost, so it's suits him.
If you ever need any inspiration, I have a great book on drawing Haida that I can scan some pages in for you. It's quite detailed and goes into some depth on imagery and their sipirtual meanings.
Aboriginals are from Oz, peacock. :D It's art inspired from the Northwest Natives. Tlingit, Tsimshian, Haida, Kwagiutl, Nootka, Salish are the tribes that practise this form of art.
Just found it, it's called, Looking at Indian Art of the Northwest Coast. It was printed in 1980, ahahaha.. my friend said he found it in a used book store when he gave it to me. Didn't realize it was so old.
