I dont understand the dates shown on the grave. he was born in 1809 and died in 1849. so where does the 1875 come from? Any insite would be greatly apreceated

Poe was reburied like twice...I think.



The monument on His finally resting spot reads just as the shirt does.

ok i just did some research this is the facts.



the monument says edgar allen poes original burrial place from 1849 to 1875 then it was moved to the bigger monument. thanks for the lead.

it doesn't make much sense to me, either. The dates should have been his birth and death. His body isn't burried under the marker that has the dates like on the shirt.
