Has anyone got any tips and tricks up their sleeves? I'm pretty new to this game and I have no idea how to get noticed and critqued in a manner that does'nt seem like spamming people.

Here is my critque - feel free to give me some advice on how to make this a better piece:

Use the HTML that they allow you to make your links easier for people to visit. That way they don't have to cut and paste the address. That may seem like a little thing but it stands our more than the regular gray text and is more streamlined. It's not hard at all to do either.

Also, Don't be afraid of the whole spam thing. As long as you give meaningful, sincere advice, people won't feel like they are getting spammed. Just don't expect to get something for nothing. You've got to give good critiques and then ask to be critiqued and then if they still think that you are spamming them, then who cares? You'll never meet them in real life, you gave it an honest effort, and you don't have to worry about what they think. Just get your design out there to as many people as you can and give helpful feedback.

An example of the html link that I leave after every critique that I make:
Can you help me with mine?

spam everywhere but the threadless blogs. put it on twitter, facebook, flickr, etc. just don't do it excessively and piss everyone off, and don't go around adding your link to other peoples blogs, submissions, or critiques. that shit gets irritating.

What D3D said.
Just don't spam on other people's designs -it's annoying

Hey, how did you get the link to work? I'm clueless when it comes to HTML....just a bunch of letters and symbols. How do I know which ones to use when and where?
I'm just gonna try something.
