Am i just crazy or have i been seeing a lot of shutter shades lately in the designs?

Every time i try putting up a new version of my critique, it makes it look completely squished and throws the proportions off. I couldn't find an answer in the help section, so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

2. Orange
3. Yellow
4. Red

Am I alone in this thought?
