so that's copyright infringement on two counts. Although I'm pretty certain that the advert is now public domain and after considerable research I can't find any information at all on the artist.

I'm starting to realise why I'm ignored on these boards.

The combination of the two images skirts into parody, so you might be safe. Go for it, see what happens.

I don't mean to plagiarise, so I fully intend to make it clear where I got the image from... I'm going to try and run it by Rachelraygun and see what she has to say on the matter...

For the record, the title is not meant to infer anything about Rachel in any kind of Swim attire ha, and once I get her attention it will revert to it's original form haha.

I'm not 100% where my mind is right now.

A couple of general things about the design: a big rectangle on a shirt is something people hate. Using a lot of text is also a risk. It works in "listed items in a grid" types of designs or with fancy typography. If you wish to continue with this I suggest you keep the text to a logo and a short slogan at most. As for copyright problems, Lucasfilm has gone after people for just using the word Tatooine.

Fair point, I think I'm beginning to get a picture of what changes would need to be made. With regards to Fett, which I think aside from the text is the only thing that would cause trouble... how lenient would they be with that? I can only cite prints like Dark Side of the Garden and Dark Raven, but they only feature the back of a costume plus a very heavy allusion to the Death Star...

Really? I didn't know that. That was a great concept, but possibly one of the most often stolen designs on the internet. I don't know what it's like else-where, but walking around the Markets or the lower end smaller boutique-esque stores in London, they all have some form of shoddily printed version. Well if that was pulled that would definitely cause some problems.

I got a message from Rachel basically saying that there would be so much to change with this design it would end up near unrecognisable because Lucasfilm are such hard-asses. So I think I'm going to keep this one just for me. Shame though as I'm real happy with it, and think that with some tweaking it could have made a good shirt.
