about Kite Parkour
UPDATE!Got some photos from Delhi, check it out... ![]() ![]() ![]() You may notice in that last one that one of the kids is sporting BMX Nirvana. Turns out I accidentally sent my order of shirts to Delhi too, and I just thought international economy post was just being extra slow! It's hard not to laugh when I think about how confused he must have been at having the only different shirt- I can't decide whether he would be proudly unique and the jealousy of all, or horrifically left out. No big deal I thought, I'll just head over to threadless and order some more of my shirts, but disaster- all the guys sizes are sold out! My extraspecially nice friends at threadless offered to check around their warehouse when I told them about it all, and thankfully managed to find me some of my design left. Got them this morning, thanks! Sorry for the mega long blog, and if you read it all, give yourself a thumbs up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is by far my favourite print of mine so far, and it's made extra special by the difference it will make. Thanks so much to everyone who voted for this, and who has bought it too. Here is where the prize is going... $1500- Anusaran- a small charity in Delhi who do amazing work with young woman and children in a slum area. I spent a year with them and the place inspired this design. $100- Save the children- a British charity which does great work worldwide, but the money is for their Haiti Appeal specifically. $100- Girl Effect- A charity that transforms societies in a sustainable way though supporting young women. $100- Cystic Fibrosis Trust- A friend of mine has CF, so this is for a charity that supports people and funds research into treatments. $100- Shelter- Another British charity, which helps homeless folk. There are a few folk beg around where I live, and it would be great to see them get on their feet again. $100-Charity Water- I wanted to give to a water thing because I like water. I only heard about these guys the other day, but they seem perfect. A bit about the design... In delhi I stayed for a while in the slum area. In the evening the rooftops were full of kids fighting kites, and in the streets below kids were keeping a keen eye on the scene- ready to chase after any kite that was cut loose. I took the photo in the background on a quick visit to Shimla in the foothills of the himalayas. The place was seething with monkeys so I invested in a "monkey stick" to keep them at bay. It was a beautiful place though. (p.s. no photoshopping involved!) Thanks threadless for printing this, I hope soon I will have some pictures of Anusaran receiving some shirts!
