UPDATE!

So I said in my design if it ever gets printed here I'll give away 3/4 of the prize. Now I've decided the other 1/4 is up to YOU!

Name and explain who you think should get some, and I'll pick 5, so if it gets printed as 2k10 each gets $500, and if it gets a normal print each gets $100. I'll only send the money to registered charities, you chancers.

All clear? I hope I explained that alright.

Alright everyone, here is my new design...

Basically as well as a new graphic trend, I see threadless and it's users stepping out into the wider world and using their creativity to make a difference- Heck it's already happening with the amazing response to the Haiti tee!
And so - I'm promising at least 3/4 of the money to anusaran, a charity in west Delhi that make a massive difference on a shoe string budget.

The last thing I want to do is seem all high and mighty, or like I'm trying to grab a pity vote, even if this scores like crap I'm giving a bunch of money to them cause they need it way more than I need a new ipad or something.

No guilt tripping here- i just think we can use our creativity in amazing and far reaching ways!

Dude, really inspiring design both in illustrative depth but in just accurate yet totally exaggerated life scenes. Too cool of you to do something like this, truly making a difference through your artistic actions and raising awareness, i salute you sir!

And every time you make a blog I usually sit and watch the kid riding and crashing the skateboard kid for a minute or two on your profile, lol.

really cool design, is it a resub? it looks very similar to something but I cant put my hands on it. I like the combination of photo and illustration

Cheers. It's not a resub, but it did turn out unfortunately similar to favela by wabi sabi. The concept and photo depart it enough though, hopefully people will agree!

although it's really commendable to promise to give away most of your winnings i always feel really weird about people doing this type of thing on threadless. there's really no debate about whether this type of thing can sway the voters. who would vote down a chance at giving poor people several thousand dollars?

i'd rather see people sell prints or something that they have already made and say 'proceeds go to this charity' etc than to submit something to a contest.

the design is really pretty, though it did remind me of that other one too.

I agree with you on the weird level, please don't take this as some sort of subversion (which I guess it could well be, if I didn't know me)- even if this does sway voters I trust the threadless guys to see past that. And if it gets an undeserving score then in a way it shows people are caring and thinking- it's kindof like signing a petition. What I really want is for people to start thinking of the far reaching possibilities their creativity can have for others- and I think it can go way beyond giving proceeds of things to a charity.
