Hello. It's only been a few days since I've joined but I've been enjoying the many talented designs here and hope to stay for awhile.
Eventually I would like to submit some designs of my own as well, but I have some questions that could use some clearing up. My biggest concern right now is about the limited colors. As I am sure most if not all of you are aware, there is an 8 color limit on most designs (sans special processes). My question is, are these colors each considered a spot color, meaning that if you use a tint of a swatch it wouldn't count towards the 8 color max? Or are tints of one color considered another color altogether? I was curious because one recommendation they have in the PDF file on declining submissions is to use half-toning for shading versus another color to stay under the 8 color max. That's why I was curious if tints used in shading would be considered a second color. Another question I have concerns scoring. If I choose a design rated at a 5, but do not select the option of wearing it as a tee or buying a print, does that count against the overall selection process for a potential print? I assume it won't affect the overall vote score, but could possibly weigh in when the Threadless team decides whether or not something will ultimately be selected. I have supported talented designs and themes with a 5, but may not have necessarily purchased it myself if it were selected, and opted out of the print or tee choice. So I was curious how that was factored in. Well, I suppose that is it for now, thanks in advance for any clarification. :) |
I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
I like nature.
