Yes, or does it not? This blog is about this annoying "filter" that people put on visual graphics when they decide if it fit their idea of what is a good picture or not. (Know what i´m talking about, eh?) The reason why I´ve come up with this subject is that I´m a member of a artgroup here in sweden, ahh the pain, the pain!, wich is responsable for several exhibitions per year and consists of me and a bunch of nice and polite seniors. (Not that this subject has to be about age, but it shows as a bit more obvious matter when your own views dont fit the general idea. It could come up in several other discourses as well, of course, but in my case it shows here and when I see what´s happening in the artschools. ) It´s not easy to deal with, but it´s a drill in the arse if you prefer a funny comic or teedesign, for example, in front of a semi-modernist oilpainting or a nonsaying artschool experiment. Get my point? Ok, but you might also suspect that I´m a bloody hypocrite who likes to throw stones in glass houses. Hats off to you in that case. Art is a tricky thing, and perheps we need those darn filters all of us, I just wish that some would try to made up their own minds about things without comparing what they look at with what they have tought is right and see things for what they are for once! Ok, enough whining. Feel free to respond with your blessings and love letters, and keep the concept of Art open!

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
Hi! I´m a nice enough guy who, amongst other more common things, likes to give birth to sounds and pictures. Maybe it´s a kind of compensation, eh? Anyway, those different children of mine could be of any sort and form, so it´s always a sort of mystery going on.
I´ve done my own prints for years before I fell over this community, and it was almost like when I first discovered that there was recordstores! Now they´ve disappeared, but threadless won´t, right?. Yours truly/ Ravatskij! |
