I posted this in NomadSlim's blog, but thought I'd post it here too to make it easy to find.
I created a couple Photoshop actions that automate my process for creating halftones. There are two actions, the first is "quick halftone" that instantly creates a halftone of the current layer using default attributes for the halftone filter. The second, "custom halftone", brings up the dialog box so you can adjust the variables and then provides a stop so you can repeat the filter to modify the look of the halftone before finishing up the action. Download here. Unzip and then load the Halftones.atn file by selecting "Load Actions" via the actions palette. I hope some people find this useful. --- **Update This originally wasn't working on CS versions of PS, as some people noted in the comments that it was getting hung up at the color halftone point. I have PS7 at home so I wasn't able to test it until I got to work today. I just had to reorder a couple actions and now it works (tested with CS3). If you download and try it out, let me know how it works and if you have any issues and what version of PS you are using. Thanks!
