TreeDS, final day!

I had this idea about a Nintendo 3DS and a tree growing. The tree would weave in and out of the screen as it grew and the DS would add screens to accommodate the growing trees. Any thoughts? I'm not sure whether to make the tree look like a game sprite on not. Thanks for looking!!!

Yes, chess 10x, there will be many more animals and fruits and flowers going on. I want it to be like a more diverse ecosystem as it goes up in height. Thanks all for looking!

I'm not so sure there is a reference, really. I guess it just kind of occurred to me. There are those games where you raise an animal, so why not a tree? I guess I was just trying to create a hopeful image of tech and nature instead of gasmasks and scorched earth. Thanks for your thoughts!

The 8 bit looks great, but at this point I wouldnt quite make the ds connection, I think making it more like a ds by having the ds buttons on the sides of the bottom screen like in your sketch would help it a lot

The pixeled look is done manually in Illustrator. Those are just squares of different colors on a grid. Thanks for looking! @ colinlepper, I'm going to add some buttons down there. Thanks again for looking!

Should the animals that I'm going to put in be 8-bit also? Or would it be cooler if real animals were coming to live in the digital tree?

i would stick with 8 bit, but it could work with realistic animals 8)

looking very good!!! i think you should add some ground texrture like leafs or something to the bottom screen and some clouds on the top pannels:)

Per Nir's request, I added some clouds and some ground texture. I think the only thing left is another animal just below and to the left of the jaguar. I'm thinking an eagle. Any other thoughts? Thanks for looking!

I'm a magazine art director living in Boulder, Colorado. My hometown is Chicago. When I'm not working, I'm freelancing and uploading vectors to Istock. I enjoy running, biking and swimming.
