You were given the same advantage. Anyone's entry can be taken out of the running if they score less than a 1.5 and have 100 votes. Giving you more time with less than a 1.5 you be giving you more advantage than anyone else, that wouldn't be fair. I'm sorry your entry was taken out of the running, but that's the way threadless works.

I can see the point of the new system, of course. Though I still think it is unfair considering different time zones around the world. So I think it should be:



100 votes or 24 hours (whichever is longest) after which time if it drops below 1.5 it gets canned.

Why would location matter? If 100 people in the Eastern Time Zone vote that it sucks, why wouldn't ppl in Alaska do the same if they had the chance?

I don't think your submission should have been scored so low. I really liked it and scored it high. I am sorry you were short-listed.

Another thing that ticks me off is that some people are sick of IFC and are automatically giving all IFC submissions 0. This is WRONG. If you don't like the competition, just skip the submission.

I doubt it. This seems to be an isolated incident. Usually the designs that are knocked off quickly are really really bad. I think this just has to do with people being tired of IFC and scoring unfairly. Shame on them.

To me the line work looked choppy and unfinished, but not intentionally so. If you cleaned it up, or stylized it less randomly, I'd likely score it higher.

I really don't get why you will give lower scores if you tired of IFC... just don't score them!

I think the new system works good most of the times.

Considering that 100 votes can go pretty fast, I think they should change it to one day. As in, if it has less than a 1.5 in 24 hours THEN can it. Otherwise 100 people just isn't enough to judge something that accurately I don't think.

firstly, they have said many, many times that if a score gets a 1.5 after 100 votes, then the score does not change by more than 0.2 either way when it has completed scoring.



i dislike the IFC competition, but i still rate the designs the way i rate everything else. if it's a nice appealing design, i don't care if it's for the competition or not.



i would agree that maybe they should bump it up to maybe 150 or 200 because of the recent influx of new people at threadless, but still, if the figures say it won't change much then why bother...

The time zone thing is a sesnsible idea. For example, Asians have different tastes than British. Another: A car named Nova failed in Spanish speaking countries because it means "doesn't go." Bottom line: let the whole world decide before cutting your face off.

Without reading what everyone else wrote (because I'm lazy):

We do all have the same chances in the scoring system. You don't know how much I too worried that my most recent submission was going to get the filter and be taken out before I even had a chance to vote on it myself. If the design is good, it will survive the filter. If it filtered out then you need to keep working at making your next designs better and better.
