Hey Amelia! I really like where this design is going. And I prefer the top version. If you're gonna add anyting, I'd added lightning coming from the guitar like in music video "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness. Here's a Go to about 3 minutes and 10 seconds into the video to see what I'm talking about. Good Luck!

@mitchellp, that is something I am planning on doing. If you looks at my original sub, they have some laser beam action going on. I don't know if I should watch that vid, that's one of those songs that gets stuck in your head forever!

Alright, just tryin out the different hair color idea. The laser beams positioning is just a test. The different colors do look kind of cool though.

That's pretty cool, but the lightning needs more detail like sparks and the floating prism should reflect some of these new colors.

I'd add some elemental properties to the "lasers" like one might be using Fire and the other Ice (to be cliche). But elemental properties make sense when talking wizards -- but that may be my inner RPgamer speaking.

I like the original too, but I really hate the green color block background.

Fire & ice is a really cool idea, maybe I will give it a try, gotta think about that. I was hoping to not have to start a whole new version though, photoshop is starting to fry my brain.

I guess the wizards this is most inspired by are from lord of the rings & harry potter, so they are more just straight up powerful & mystical & maybe less elemental, but I guess I am just dipping my toe into the wizarding world.

ok, I decided to try out the fire/ice idea. I think it could be pretty cool. Probably gonna work on it some more tomorrow & see how it goes. Here's what I've got so far.

thanks guys! yeah, I wasn't totally sure about it but now that I can see it coming together, I think the fire/ice combo has the potential to work out. Thanks so much for the idea Outlaw, I don't think that ever would have entered my brain on my own!

Thanks to all the awesome advice & ideas from yesterday, I have made some advancements towards completing this design, this version at least.

This is what I've got right now:

I'm planning on adding some more electricity & debris type action. Not sure if the trees will stay in or not.

I might also simultaneously sub the standalone wizard t-shirt, cuz I really like that one too.

hmm, I might try that out. I kind of like the icy spray that it has now, but if it looks better w/ the chunks then maybe it's worth giving it a go.

The second pic is Frozone from the Incredibles! Which is a great movie. And the Ice Chunks looks okay. I almost think you need to do a combination of the chunks and the spray.

I think the ice is looking perfect -- maybe add some snow flurries around the crystals.

The flame could look a little more fluid... like a flamethrower.

Also -- the big crystal like explosion in the middle could use some work. The ice side looks fine, but the fire side just looks weird.

I like the way the ice wizard's beard is blown backwards by the wind. However, the fire wizard's beard seems unaffected. I'd think the fire wizards hair and beard would be blown back as well.

I would bring some more grass textures into the foreground and background

But I'm being nit picky now -- which probably means you're about done :)

I'm feeling like it's pretty much done. I might try out mitchellp's beard suggestion just to see if it makes a difference. I might do some more grass texture stuff, but I agree it could go on forever with minor tweakings. At some point it's gotta just be put away! (or so I keep telling myself)

OK this is the one thing I don't like about this design:

The point where wizards magic power seems to be coming out of , everyone is so use to the idea of wizards raising their magic wands and firing spells at their opponents that it just looks akward when you see it some other way.

and the fact that the power goes up like an extended penis doesn't help either ( there I said it ).

What if the emiting power was to travel more like the wave sounds do?

Wow! Really?? It looks like a penis? Soloyo, I'm going to have to strongly disagree. Although I do think the way the fire and ice are coming out of the guitar do seem a little stiff still. I think it could be more violent looking. Coming out not just into one point but also with some going up, some riocheting off the other wizards blast, and down. The ice guitar could use soem icicles too. And the fire guitar should be glowing hot.
