I mean, I'm 5'9'' and 19% body fat. Tall, but moderately skinny. It seems almost ideal. I'm not a big girl.
Until this time, this shirt, I've always bought Girly Larges (or Men's Smalls if necessary). But I cannot believe that I am really a large. There are so many people larger than me. Whatever would they do?? Am I really only one size from da max?
So I bought a medium. After a wash, I sure hope it fits. We'll see.

I've found that threadless shirts run small. I usually wear an x-small from most stores and I order mediums here, they fit a little big, and they shrink a little in the wash.

Exactly. Large is a little big, but okay, and washed (line dried) is perfect.
This all makes me wonder about the size of the girls buying smalls. My boobs alone, devoid of torso, are too big for a small. Probably. Not tested.

I know several girls that have the problem with the chest, and therefore can not wear smalls, but I don't have that problem, still I buy larger sizes incase I do in the future. Before I got my shirts I was lucky to have a friend let me borrow his threadless shirt for a day and he wore girly mediums, so I got to try it on first. If it doesn't fit you could always resell it???

well, i am a girl, and i get the mens 2x from threadless. i normally wear a mens xl in any other shirt, and a womens 2/3x if i wear womens. i just hate how womens clothes fit me. the sleeves on tshirts are almost non-existent... if i wanted a tank top, i would get one. plus, i like things to actually cover the waist of my pants... i believe clothes are made for a reason: to keep you from being naked. and by the looks of many people today, that function of clothing has been completely lost.

i get the girly large i am 2 inches shorter than you and i dont know my body fat %... they fit fine i guess. i wish they were longer or didnt shrink so much. after i wash and dry them they shrink 3-5 inches in length, but i dry them on high though because i always seem to do my laundry at the last minute.

Eh, I'm not so sure I'd fit into a small anymore. Exactly how small do you have to be?

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I'll report back on the success of cramming said boobs into a medium. I'm just a 34C, but hey.
d3d, I'll aim for that goal with http://threadless.com/submission/54515/stand-off.

I started by buying a girly large, then girly xl, and now guy's large. I dry the shirts by accident! I'm considering selling my large Ostrich and my xl Carbon & Realize girl's shirts 'cuz they don't meet my pants waistband anymore.

this is something common in sizing for girl's clothing. I regularly buy larges and extra-larges (anywhere and everywhere, not just threadless) despite being 34A and having a 25" waist -- I mean, seriously. and I don't shop in the little girl's department, either.

it's insane.

I live in Australia and wear a standard medium here - I love the fit of the girly large - they are perfect across my shoulders but I have to say it irks me to wear a large. Mind you I haven't washed my first one more than a couple of times yet, I'm really happy with the length and hope it doesn't shirnk up too much!

Threadless' or rather AA's girly shirts are like junior sizes, maybe slightly smaller. I bought some in girly XL, they were constrictive in the armpits and made that weird stretch between my boobs, (I'm 38 C, I thought I am pretty average to other women around here) I'm past 30 days so I'm going to auction them at some point. The men's medium fits very nicely. haven't washed those yet. *crossing my fingers*
Hey, do you all think its too much to ask for- a shirt that stays the same size you originally bought?? Especially if they're gonna charge more the girly shirts!

In stores I usually buy "girly" t-shirts in a L and love the fit, so I ordered my first Threadless tee in a L - and found out what it must feel like to bind your chest. :P The XL is better, but I still have to do a bit of "pre-stretching" in the boobal region before I put them on (34D, 5'8", 130lbs.). I wish the AA shirts had a little more give to them to accommodate those of us who are...umm...breastally gifted. ;)

i'm so sure i'm going to have to send them back now. because i'm always borderline. i hate when stuff runs small.

sigh.

Well, since we're all going to share our measurements here...

I'm built pretty oddly, so nothing will probably ever fit me correctly as long as I live, but I wear the girls' small size. I'm 5'3", 90lbs., 21" waist, 34C. As with most anything I wear, though the shirt is of course loose everywhere else, it is on the snug side through the chest. For those of you who were curious, however, I'm fairly sure that anyone with a 34" bust measurement would be fine in that department wearing a small, though I think that is the maximum bust size it could accommodate. As far as the rest of the shirt goes, I would suggest anyone much taller than me to wear a larger size, unless you are into exposing your stomach. The shirts do tend to be a bit short. As for the tightness in the chest, it is snug, yes, but nothing uncomfortable, aside from shirts with very large prints, since that area of the shirt will not stretch. The tightness, though, actually frames the bust quite nicely and I think most would agree is aesthetically appealing. Hahaha.

i ordered all my shirts in girl's medium/os....some fit bigger than others. it's weird. some shrink a couple inches while others keep their size pretty much. i ordered a girl small in one shirt just in case, and yeah it restricts the boobsssss!! so medium/os it is for me.

Wow so many comments! Okay, well I got the medium in today and it fits much better than the large. Now, I obviously haven't washed it. Probably I'l have to be rather careful. I don't wear my shirts as tight as I could for certain, so I guess I still have room to work.
Here are a few tips on making shirts longer: Line dry them and hand stretch the shirt before putting it on the drying rack. And/or once it's dry, stretch the shirt lengthwise and iron it. Be careful though, because ironing the designs isn't too smart.

I'm 5'2'', 115lb, 34C... the small shirts fit perfectly as long as I remember to *never* toss them in the dryer.

i'm 5'9 (and a girl, thanks) and pretty healthy -- not skin and bones but not overweight. i wear the guys large -- the girly ones just don't fit right. i think if you're tall at alll you just have to get over it. S,M,L, XL-- sizing differs so dramatically from brand to brand... just wear what fits and looks good and don't trip about the letter on the tag.
