There have been a lot of threads like this in the past. This one, however, is different.

Post the SINGLE (only one!) overused element that you hate MOST. I don't care if you've got hearts, drips, and zombies coming out of your blessed ears—just tell me ONE thing that you hate. And why. Make it angry. FOCUS YOUR HATRED!

Because rants are therapeutic.

And having done that, here's the challenge for the designers in the blog forum: Read your rant, or the rant of someone else. Think about it. And come up with a design containing that element that you (or they) would be willing to wear.

As for me...

I hate penguin designs. Loathe them. They aren't funny, they aren't quirky, they aren't cute, and they aren't original. Fully half of them are photoshop filters or livetraces of the SAME DAMN PHOTOGRAPH, and the rest are so painfully cutesey that I want to throw up. Yes, we KNOW that they look like they're wearing little suits. Oh, how ADORABLE.

Penguins don't fall in love with tuxedos. They don't go to prom. They don't hang out with polar bears. They don't hatch anything but eggs. March of the Penguins, Farce of the Penguins, Happy Feet—I don't care what adorable move you just saw. Penguins aren't interesting. They're overused, bland, and not worth wearing on a t-shirt. Ever.
