How are designs chosen?

Sometimes I don't get why certain designs get printed. Some get a voters score of less than 2, but are still printed. What's going on here? Anyone know where the final descision comes from?

i know for sure it's the select highest scores of the week, think. i'm actually not too sure about that.

it's pretty much mostly based on score, but if the treadless staff really like a design it can get printed

at least that is what i've gathered

It's kindof a coliseum fight to death, all against all. They out in there the designers with the highest scorind designs and give each one a helm and a weapon, and some with lower score but they don't get helm nor weapon. The last 6 to remain standing get their designs printed.

And for the Loves promos it's made in tounament style.

After a design is finished scoring the staff has a waffle pow wow. Each staff member is required to bring their own special waffle batter. The designs that got finished scoring that week all get printed on a 2x2 sheet of 80# coated matte paper and is mixed at random into all the various batters. Shimala is then called in the room wearing his "Waffles (exclamation point)" apron. After the count of 13, shimala raises his arms and yells "McGillicuddy!" and all staff members must shut their waffle irons. When the waffles are finished, 17 local celebrities are brought in for a blind taste test. The waffle with the most votes for deliciousness is then put on a pedestal and examined my airspace technicians. Then the designs used within the winning waffle are put in a blender, and made into a high protein shake. This shake is then consumed by a rasta. The rasta then dances and begins chanting the selected winners names. Then threadless prints them.

some 'low scoring' designs get printed because the people who work at threadless are much better judges at what is 'good design' than the vast majority of voters here aka votards who will score subs zero if they are controversial or weird.
