This shirt is part of a trilogy of American history designs featuring "what if?" scenarios with giant robots. Big thanks to Travis (a.k.a. TGWA) for the idea for this one!

I gotta admit I was disappointed when I saw that they went with a lighter shirt color than I had in my submission. This design relies heavily on the shirt color showing through in lots of places, so going with "slate" really changed the way it looks on the screen. But then I saw that it looks fantastic printed on the actual shirts, so I guess they know what they're doing. Sorry to doubt you, Threadless! (It was only for a moment)

Just got my shirts- I was a little worried about the shirt color and the blue ink they chose (in fact, I'm never perfectly pleased with the final printing, so I've been mentally preparing to be disappointed all day), but the shirt looks AWESOME! I couldn't be more pleased- the shirt color is perfect (slate looks darker than it does in the art detail) and the blue isn't vivid- it's actually well integrated into the design. Thanks, Threadless! I give you an A+.

They were both submitted originally somewhere else but not picked up, so I'm tweaking one and overhauling another. Here's one of them I put up in critiques last night, in fact! Please feel free to opine. The other one is still at shirt.woot, but the voters there aren't really a design crowd so they only seem to like my humorous/cute-ish stuff. Here's the link. I want to try this one on a different blank and change a lot of the half tones to something else. It'll go through the critique rounds soon...

This was the first shirt I ever bought from Threadless and it's still one of my favorites. Ever since, I've had this thing for robot t-shirts. And it's all your fault.
