Yeah, and if at all possible make it seem like the pet is coming from the kids imagination, so maybe some colors moving out of his head around the creature?

I dont really know how.

Also, goldfish colors for the beast sounds like a good idea. And drawing the kid/fish in the same style as the beast.

wow that's real cool! But flat, cartoony sillouhette of the boy and fish bowl contrasts too much with the the colorful creature, i think.

Also, it's not 100% clear that the boy is dreaming or imagining the awesome pet- it sort of looks like the dragon is about to eat the boy.

you are right, i was thinking on drawing more the kid, like being mad for having this tiny fish, and maybe behing the broken fishbowl with the fish on the flor near the glass, and a cloud or bubble that shows that the kid is talking about that dragonbrid thig or thinking about it
