Technical Difficulties with a Laptop

I have this HP computer and I was in the middle of playing a game when it turned off. It felt really hot so I figured it overheated and I turned it over. I let it cool off for a while and turned it back on. Now it's making this really high-pitched noise when the fan is running - it sounds like a siren is going off.

I attempted to unscrew everything, but it all stayed together, so I'm just confused. After turned it back on, I realized maybe our outlet had gone out, making my computer go onto battery and maybe it just died.

I'd really like to just figure out how to take it apart, because it's a school laptop and I won't be back there until January 12th for them to fix it for free. *sigh*

Help.

Actually, I LOVE my HP. Call tech. support or send it in to them, takes about 5 days.

Amen. I only have it because our school gives us a free computer to use all year. This years are brand new, yet everyone constantly gets the blue screen of death when uploading pictures onto facebook.

Yeah, I'd be careful poking around inside a laptop if you don't know what you're doing.

Remember that it takes less static electricity than you can see, hear or feel to fry a chip and it's pretty easy to discharge into them without even realising it.

Well maybe they gave you all budget dead stock? Mine is a sexy piece of sexiness that is awesome. Except it got a dead pixel so I sent it in and now it has dust between the screen and display and some small almost chips on the back. Wtf, pissed. but I am ranting now.......

Call someone at your school and get some information about your computer and see if you can send it in. Seriously, takes like 5 days.

I have an HP Compaq, and it's pretty sweet. The top case part (right next to the screen) has gotten a bit scratched, but if the only problem I have with it is cosmetic I'll be pretty happy.

Hanaza: HP has a new tech. support team, they are much better now. Seriously, get your butt off the computer and call the 24/7 number.

You should probably just turn it off for a while and let it cool off. If you have some compressed air, try to blow some dust out.

But yeah, just give your computer a rest for now. No need to fry your hard drive.
