I always liked the freedom of not having any pets, but now that I have Mr. B I could never get rid of him.

The two things I would save if there was a fire are my laptop and my guitar.

i reckon pets, laptop and guitar (if you play it - i have one of the other variety) are definites. :)

looking at my bookshelves and wondering if i scan all my 'picture books' i could bring myself to turf the lot. if the books go, everything else has to cough up a good excuse to stay.

i moved recently and got rid of 95% of my books. it was quite a hard thing to do. still have to get rid of loads of CDs and DVDs. after moving quite a few times in the past couple of years, it was surprisingly easy to get rid of any sentimental kinda shit that was of no real use to me

I purged a lot of my belongings when I left the UK - sold my 300+ CDs and gave my 500+ VHS vids to charity.

I'd find it hard to part with my books and comics, but I guess they're replacable.

My hard drive contains pretty much all my photographs, music and work so that's the only thing I really could never part with I guess.
