about Lemon Aid
Today I review Lemon Aid by Jeff Battocletti.

Lemon Aid - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

This design features lemons and not just one but 3 lemons. Now this is going to be an indepth review, I warn you in advance, because I need to explain the visual pun here. Or the joke, because that's kinda what a pun is.

Now you see, 2 lemons are being stretcher bearers because the other lemon needs aid. But this is not where the pun hits, oh no, the pun is that it is RECEIVING lemon aid. That is, aid from lemons. In this way the injured lemon didn't even really need to be a lemon, but I suppose this is a "by lemons for lemons" form of medical representation of sorts.

Now naturally, the design has a lot of yellow in it. This is what you'd expect from a design about lemons but it is important to point out.

Also, whilst the design does feature dripping, shadows, and a flag, it does not feature bacon, cute eyes, or a puppy. For this reason I can only award it a 4. But its score of 3.7 from the threadless voters pretty much means that this design is one of the best ever.

This design is certainly no lemon! Get it... lemon. lemon.

PS. It receives Lemon Aid as help, rather than the drink.

yeah, 3.7 equals nearly best ever. that's some accomplishment for a yellow shirt.

But the lemmon drips ('blood') are also an indgredient of lemon aid, so that angle also adds. I think.

sorry Matt you've got it all wrong...

what... i hear you say?

well lemon aid comes from lemon juice. JUICE is a calocial term for what one may put into their car to make it run for eg (juice = petrol) and (petrol = oil).

now this lemon may be a signifier in a brilliantly crafted metaphor (USA?) and this metaphor is fast running out of juice, so his compatriots who have a mash style stretcher and a red cross flag must be soldiers running quickly along to fetch some more juice, but where do you go when you are out of juice?

i don't know... a foreign country like Iraq!!!

so you see this design is actually a poignant comment on political, global and humanitarian issues and should be applauded as such.

Well if that's true Andreas, then it only gets a 2. Noone needs a political t-shirt!

You obviously read my review in the same way you would read a lovesthreadless review.

Not at all.

eh' I will take it either way, especially when an elephant swinging on a flying trapeze with a monkey garners a better score.

the voters are an easy bunch to read... boy i could go for a hamburger right now

is it it's simplicity or poignancy that irritates you?

shirtflirt, no one wants smart t-shirts! It's too challenging. It's all about cute eyes, smiley faces, putting a ton of shit on the same t-shirt, and an occassional umbrella blocking rain.

i've been trying the "ton of shit" method recently and it's working alright but it's not foolproof.
