I've never actually seen FNL. Just, like, ABCFamily's promos for it. It seems really obnoxious.

Both Brian and my ex-boyfriend have already jumped on my case about judging it before actually watching it, and Brian has threatened me numerous times, but man. I just don't wanna.

I was hesitant to watch, not only because I don't really care about high school football, but because of how much it mattered to the town on the show. But I was hooked about three episodes in. Plain and simple it's just good drama. Good television. There might be a slight loving curve in the first few episodes. They really focus on how much the town loves high school football and it can be annoying when you're a sane person.

In the end, the show isn't really about football. It's about Coach and the players and the people of the town. Football just happens to be a thing they're all into.

Yeah that Landry/Tyra storylline was ridiculous. The cops already knew that guy was a rapist who tried to rape her once. But apparently they got told to do something sensational to distance the show from being about football and I guess frankly make it more of a sopa opera.

Season 2 is weak if only because of the writer's strike. But "weak" for FNL is still pretty darn good, all things considered.

i couldn't tell but it was weird that there was an earhtquake happenign in every episode.

and it's not JUST shaky cam...AD is shot with a handheld...if the style fits i'm down.

that opening scene doesn't bother me at all. and really, i can't think of a better way to shoot it based on the types of scenes there. stationary shots just wouldn't fit well.
