Hey all!
Ok I am not totally experienced with computer art, so I have a concept but before I spend hours fooling around in PS I want to make sure it is worth my time.
so my question is, here is my concept, should I photoshop it (redraw, add color, etc) or just drop it?
I won't be offended if you tell me it is a bad idea, you're saving me from wasting time, but please remember the drawings below are simple sketches for the concept so please don't respond saying I draw like crap, it's just a 10 minute concept drawing.
also, I don't have a scanner, so these pictures were taken with a digital camera, sorry.

ok the concept is "the journey we have made" or some such thing.

the idea starts with a yellow rose (which mean "friendship") transforms into a taxi, then into a plane

rose and taxi close up (sorry for the front of the car suckage, this would be rendered much better)

taxi and plane

I just want to know if this is too lame or hallmarky for me to bother with.
thanks all!
so tell me-- SHOP OR DROP??

thanks golden... do you think it's worth rendering on the computer and submitting though? and if so, what kind of style should I do it in? solid blocks of color, halftone, keep it sketchy? If it's worth going through with I don't want it to look like clip art :/

hmm - well, i have to say that "i don't get it" but that might be just me!
i wouldn't keep it sketchy and i really can't say which style suits you the best. just do it in your favorite way.
maybe a two color/halftone design would work.

haha thanks, I really appreciate your response :)
since yellow roses represent friendship I was just thinking of friendship as a literal journey, hence the modes of transportation, but it could be a little far fetched haha. My brain goes weird places.

it's truly not easy to display "abstract" things clear and to the point.

if i had to carry on with this concept, i'd maybe just draw two enormous yellow roses driving a car - it would be more graphic
i doubt it would be more clearly though ;)

ok golden so I thought your idea was interesting so I just barfed this out (remember no mocking the quick sketches!!)

two roses driving a car-- check... and then I decided to make the car out of rose vines... so the head lights and wheels are leaves (that may be hard to see, I totally rushed through this.) possible add ons: baby's break smog trailing behind it.
is it just too weird now? oh man, sorry

hey cool - i like this much better :D
i'd try to make the roses even bigger - like blooming through the windows, but it's nice this way too.
and the car out of vines idea is cool!
the baby's break smog could be nice as well - try it!
it's beautiful, really, and i like the leaf lights alot.

hey golden thanks!
sorry to bug you again but... I really appreciate all of your help!

more bloomy roses, more thorny car, hint of baby's breath smog.
how's that? thanks!!

your assiduousness is sweet :)

make the smog out of two/three single buds/leafs and change the angle of the car a bit (less frontal) maybe ascending.
and
more bloom! huge roses covering the entire front windows.
keep in mind that's these are just my opinions - it's nice to see my tips appreciated though :))

for now i'm going off - laterz!
