Clients from Hell on tumblr.

Although sometimes, it makes me wonder why I have picked graphic design as my main squeeze to be. But it also makes me laugh like crazy. Some of them are gems, though.

In reference to a photo shoot of a client's new office building...

Client: We love our new building and we thought it would be great to have pictures of it in all four seasons from the exact same angle.

Photographer: That sounds like a really cool project.

Client: Great! So what are the chances having those ready for our convention next month?

Backstory: Working on a Visitor Brochure for a Church. The Cover has lots of large circles on it with pictures of people in them.

Client: Everyone thinks that the circles look too much like Bubbles.

Me: Do you think it's bad that they associate the circles with bubbles?

Client: Well, we don’t want to be thought of as an underwater church.

Which of your shirts do you wear the most out of the ones you own?



It's really odd, cause I wear this tee so much, even though it's not even visible most of the time. It's so much fun to wear though.



But then, I keep my copy of Infamous Mishaps in my drawer, and take it out to admire it every now and then. I don't want to spill stuff on it... :P

There are a couple of sale tees I would like to buy, a $9 one and a $15.

Should I buy them now? Or should I wait? I would kinda like to have them in about 2ish weeks, and I know that priority shipping is pretty reliable (7 days). Is there any point in waiting?

How did it ever become so uncool? It's really comfy. And your back doesn't get exposed when you bend over and things. And you don't have a raggedy edge flapping around.



Right?


...I've never worn my threadless shirts tucked in though. Hmm.

They are amazing for so many reasons.

Why do they never get the respect they deserve?

Sorry I had to dash off. Dad texted me from work asking me to answer the phone which was in the other house... I was all panicy...

But it turns out he had forgotten to bid on one of his auctions. Ha. Silly dad.

Just kidding. But gee whiz that spam is annoying. I feel sorry for the guys that have to deal with it. It has been so random and so relentless, lately.

Security video has been released of the moment a pram carrying a baby rolled into the path of a Melbourne train. Miraculously, the baby survived.

As you can clearly see in the video, the pram rolls off the platform and onto the tracks. The frantic driver slams on the brakes, but the train still pushes the pram 30m along the track.

A person on the platform stopped the mother jumping onto the tracks to try to save the child.

The six-month-old received only minor injuries, and paramedics say being strapped into the pram probably saved the baby's life.

Okay, for one of my class assignments we have to create a magazine spread from scratch- the text, the illustrations, the layout. I'm writing mine on Spec Work.... but I just realised, it has to be in the form of an interview. So I guess I'm asking...


Could I possibly get a few people to answer some interview questions?


The answers don't have to be detailed, or formal... it's aimed at a lowbrow sort of design magazine anyway. A sentence or three is all I need. But I would appreciate your answers like crazy.

Lately, spec work seems to be getting more and more common in the realms of graphic design. Have you ever worked on spec?
(How did it go? Was it worth it? Have you turned it down?)

How do you define whether a project is spec work or not?(Is it a bad thing? Does it extend to friends or projects you would enjoy?)

Do you think that spec work affects the working relationship between the client and the designer at all?
(Communication? Future work? Trust?)


Does spec work inspire more effort to win over the client than regular design work? And is it worth it if it does?
(Stress levels? What happens if you don't get paid?)


What do you predict will become of spec work in the future? Will you be doing it?

I am. Because my boyfriend asked me to marry him and I said yes.

Well, actually, I squeaked yes. But it's sort of the same thing. So now he's my fiancee. I'm really really really excited... hehehe.

I don't have a photo of my engagement ring yet, because I don't have the cord for my camera at the moment... but I did draw a picture of it, because I kind of had to do something.
