My first experience with designing my own T-shirt happened on Earth Day. I spent all night stenciling the text and hoping it would dry by morning so I could wear it and show my Earth Day wit to everyone at school. I woke up with the sun, ate breakfast brushed my teeth put the shirt on and ran down stairs and almost out the door before I heard, "What are you wearing?!"

"An Earth Day shirt I made, mom."

"You cannot wear that shirt," replies mother.

Confused with an irked face. "Why not?"

"Don't you know the meaning of, 'Save a tree, eat a beaver'?"
