I have a question about coloring in your designs on photoshop. I colored in all of my designs when i sketched them out on paper. When i scan that, is it going to make it a lot harder to replace when i edit it with photoshop?

yesyes, it will.

if you've got tracing paper or thin paper you might want to try putting that over your existing design and tracing it in black pen/marker. that is the best condition to have your design before scanning it in.
