Is it just me, or has anyone else had trouble with blue colored child t-shirts?

I have bought two blue colored t-shirts; Marshmellow Factory and Biblical Disaster. Both developed white patches in the laundry and continued to become more discolored after each washing. One of them was a t-shirt made by American Apparel, which I always thought to be high-quality.

Not sure if it's my laundry detergent; I used Tide. My roommate also got the Marshmellow Factory shirt. She experienced the same problem; and she uses a different detergent.

Just a word of caution out there to the community. When you are buying child size blue t-shirts, be aware that they don't stay blue...
