Ok, so to try and enalbe me to settle in a little better to the Threadless community I decided I'd get stuck in with a shit Blog. As I'm a big fan of movies I decided my first Threadless Shit Blog (or T.S.B. if you will) would be a question to you all...

What was the last movie you watched?

I watched Napoleon Dynamite a couple

Four Brothers
The Punisher

i think when i get off work in 2 hours i'm probably going to go watch fight club, or maybe the kill bill movies

I caught the last half of some movie about the producer of an all-black sitcom trying to make it in the unforgiving world of commercial televison. The title had something to do with September and it starred Isiah Washington and Bree from Desperate Housewives/Melrose Place.

edean..seriously? no. I absolutely love that film, unless I'm in the mood for a serious film Napoleon Dynamite is awesome for a laugh.

I actually don't have any plans tonight so I'm thinking 'Be Kind Rewind'

any good anyone?

Last cinema movie was probably Juno?

I feel legitimately terrible about not going to the cinema too. Like I am part of the demise of "the artform" caused by DVD and big TVs.

Napoleon Dynamite is ace.

It never reached the same cult status over here so I'm yet to tire of all the merchandise/jokes/quoting sessions it spawned.

Last week I saw Okhotnik in the cinema..

on the weekend I started watching For Whom the Bell Tolls but didn't finish it and yesterday we watched 16 Blocks. Both of these I mainly saw to use my new video projector :D

Last film in the cinema... um...

I think Indiana Jones and the Stupidly Long Film Title, which was as awful as everyone said it was.

I've watched a bunch of films on DVD recently:

Cache
The Hustler
The Royal Tenenbaums
Capturing the Friedmans

All good or great films.

can someone explain it to me?

Well, to make things more confusing - I liked Napoleon Dynamite (not loved) and wasn't that fussed about Borat.

Last good comedy I watched in the cinema was probably Superbad.

Tell you what, I'd absolutely love to see a Curb film made, not sure how it'd work though and if it'd be feasible given the ending of the last series.

I guess it's just because it's silly comedy, sometimes that's just what you want to watch.

I love Napoleon and Borat but I can totally understand why people don't like them.

Witty comedy is generally better though, in my opinion.

I don't think a Curb film would work very well, but I'm looking forward to the Arrested Development film.

To be honest, it's not really worth asking people to "explain" why they like a comedy. If you don't find it funny, you don't find it funny - sense of humour is relative.

I'm sure if you named a load of films you find hilarious, there would be some I just didn't get.

^i thought about that while i was posting, but i've asked plenty of people that tell me it's a good movie, and no one can tell me why they like it so much

I guess it's just because it's silly comedy, sometimes that's just what you want to watch.
i can respect that answer, personally, i didn't see anything "silly" about it (silly IMO is dumb and dumber, and the like)
i am glad that you didn't say what everyone else says: "you have to watch it like 3 times before it is actually funny"
i watched it once, and if i didn't find it funny the first time, i won't find it funny any other time

at the cinema : the happening - very disapointing, easily m. night shamalamadingdong's worst film. i'd give it 1 out of 5

on dvd : sweeny todd - i was shocked in the first minute... no one ever told me it was a musical! i'd give it 3 out of 5

edean - too right. You get this a lot with Wes Anderson films. Someone will complain that Life Aquatic of Tenenbaums isn't funny, and loads of people will go on about how "Oh, well, you obviously just don't "get" it. You should stick to films like Scary Movie". It's so patronising, it's ridiculous.

If you don't find Napoleon Dynamite funny, you don't find it funny - end of story!

Seriously, though - name some films you find hilarious, and let's see whether everyone else does!
