I just got done sanding styrofoam for about an hour and a half for a little competition. Both my friend's mother and my mother work at a nursery together and every year it hosts a pumpkin art competition. My friend has competed for the past two years and she felt obligated to do it again this year. I hadn't known about it until recently, but now I'm helping her out with the creation of this year's entry.

She wanted to do a Where the Wild Things Are themed pumpkin (namely the most recognizable character from the book and movie... I haven't seen it yet so I don't know any of the names). I've never really done anything quite like this, so I'm excited to see how it turns out. Here's what I've done so far:

UPDATE

I've covered everything in clay just recently. I'll be smoothing it out and then shaping some of the features in later tonight.

That's fucking awesome.

I want to see the pic when you throw it off the top story and splatter his orange stringy brains all over the street.

Funny you should mention that... We were either going to do that or... 12 gauge it. Which would be best??

I'll do what I can. This pumpkin has caused me a deal of stress, so i imagine it will be glorious... But I'm still proud of it. I just don't want it to rot, that would be a boring way for it to die.
