During World War II, the death tolls for major countries involved were as follows. I'll list the US first, since I live here.
US = 416, 800 Germany = 5, 533, 000 (military only) UK = 382, 600 Japan = 2,100,000 Soviet Union = 10,700,000 Keep in mind, these are military deaths only. No atrocity victims or civilians included. And, there were a shitload more countries involved. So, the question. How much different would the world be today if the media covered WWII the way that current conflicts are covered? Update*** There were approximately 41,793,300 civilian deaths during WWII. This doesn't include the 5,754,400 Jews killed during the holocaust. |
