to alumni's

this is from us - newbie questions:

how come the "non-alumni seal" artist (us) gets no further comments from "with alumni club seal" artist, is that - we are new or we are just being ignored cz we do not have the seal, or were not belong, huhuhu, emo or maybe you scored low but no comment posted! i know you commented when its really a superb design(soon) whats really the reasons or just busy, any wisdom words to tell for us. heheh

my thing, your comments helps us to improve and strive. You guys have seal, so youre the best here!!! i like honest ctitique of frickinawesome thus with alexmdc too and other alumni's, well maybe they have alot of time to spare ...

just wanted a first blog, not really promoting a design. but i have TOMS heheh! oops!

What about all the other non alumni who don't comment on your designs? Are you going to single them out as well?

I comment when I have something to say. More often than not, I don't. And at present my work computer won't let me score designs, so I can't look through them.

There not doing a public service you know, all an alumni badge means is they got printed.

There are hundreds of designs on the website which go up everyday, if you were to try and comment on every single one it would be a full time job.

Its nothing personal.

there are alot of people who score but dont comment, it'd take far too much time to go through every design and make an insightful comment on each. the best way to get your designs noticed is to get involved in the blogs and get better known in the community

yup, true i cant do it either commenting each works, but its like, if an alumni is on voting, mostly alumni does the commenting too or even we are outnumbered! maybe cz theyre been here too long that they're friends but im singing "youve got a friend in me" hehe! thanks guys..

I really dont get what your trying to say?

Are you suggesting that people are more likely to comment on designs by people they know? if so complaining about that is pretty stupid.

I mean theres been plenty of studies into how we socialise with each other and how we consume information and theres a huge limit on what we can do.

Probably the most important is the dunbar number which says a group can only reach 150 people after that the group becomes un manageable and communication breaks down.

The fact is your probably out of that magic number so people wont comment on your stuff because they cant see you.

If you take part in the community then you'll probably end up in the dunbar number and the alumni will see your work.

stubby43 relaxxx, yes now i understand on dunbar area, bdwy, think you just read my statements odd cz of my evil avatar. nohh! this is only an opinion basing on what i felt and being new, got no intentions or so, i know youre in the community for some time, but i also raised a community of designers, maybe im just too sensitive, us not being commented by alumni's. thats why im raising questions for them since i really respect the community and owww, how can i be part of the community?

I can't speak for everyone, but I personally have a full time job + freelance. Even just attempting to score everything (much less, comment) takes a up a lot of time that I don't always have. I'd rather try to vote for everything rather than only for a few things, but also comment on them. I'm more inclined to comment if I ever know the artist or if the design itself knocks my socks off.
