Let's talk bread shall we?

My hearsay knowledge tells me you don't do gluten, coincidentially one of my classmates has celiac, and the other has many food allergies, gluten and rice flour being two, she's also off sugar, but I dunno if that's mandatory or a its January and time to get healthy thing.

Moving along, since you post yummy food things here I was wondering if you had a bread recipe that doesn't "taste like sand" which has been complaint of classmate #1

Thanks Regardless

True story: I used to mix up "hearsay" and "heresy".

Also, hi Cris!

He's watching a movie right now, but I'm pretty sure he's never successfully made bread.

He likes Udi's brand, though.

Did Brian just go ON and ON about it when Trader Joe's got Udi's? He must have creamed himself.

There's actually this fantastic gluten free bakery near me, and they have a really good focaccia bread, so he's wanting to try it out at some point.

He made bread last summer or so, and he said it was basically a brick.

yeeeeeeah, unfortunately i've never made my own bread successfully. i think the problem is that i just haven't used the right flour. i've only tried it with the gluten-free baking flour i use, and that does not work for bread. i need to try a good gluten-free bread flour.

but as for pre-made breads, udi's is definitely my favorite. i love it.

Hi Alvin!
You're the noob, Jefe!

Thanks Folks, it was worth a shot. I'll pass on that brand, but I'm thinking it probably isn't in our local, Canadian, non Trader Joe's grocery stores

I googled it, they totally sell it in this city. I've emailed them both, I'll let you know if they try it.

I saved this a while ago, but I haven't made it yet. Sounds pretty yummy, though.

I managed to make some gluten free waffles with my sister in law, who is gluten intolreant. We used this recipe with regular milk, not buttermilk, and it came out perfectly. Plus they reheat really super well in the toaster and are nice as snacks.

And I'm sure you could get by without adding the sugar, too. It's only a teaspoon of it anyway :P
