Because no one critiques me without sarcasm if at all, Threadless doesn't like my style because I'm not like everyone else here when I hand draw my submissions, no one seems to like my slogans so I'm leaving. I mean, how can I get better if I'm not critiqued? I'm just wasting my time here.

I'm also quite disappointed in people who leave rather cruel comments on others' work like 'is this a fucking joke?!' or they use extreme sarcasm when posting a comment. It's very sad to see that HERE. I also don't like that about Threadless. It even says 'be nice!' to the right when you're posting! What the hell ever happened to "if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all, and if you have to do it politely"?

Not to mention 'ooh nice crit mine' I HATE THOSE. Not only is it rude, it's spam! Ugh! I wish there was a 'delete this critique' function I swear!

See ya'll at Cafepress and my website if you can find it.

Sorry I'm not generic enough. :P

^ if it's almost ready, what can I do to improve? With that lack of info, it sounds like SARCASM.

So you demand people tell you what to improve? That's what you're saying?

And I guess if they choose not to they're assholes.

First off, I can't see your slogans or critiques because you deleted all of them, but the only comment i saw in your one critique was something like "good work, i think it's ready for subbing" to which you replied "i wish i could take off these sarcastic comments." Do you think every time someone compliments you they are fucking with you or something? Also, people are going to be snide and shitty sometimes, and you can't let that be the thing that deters you because that's how the world is going to be, so take the useful info people give you and ignore the rest.

Also,
Sorry I'm not generic enough. :P

Seriously, I crave generic works of art like i crave unsweetened puff rice!

well... before you deleted your critiques, they only had like 2 comments in each in... so im not sure where the "everyone is a bunch of assholes leaving rude comments" argument stemmed from.

if anything, your main complaint shouldve been the lack of comments your critiques are getting... which is quite common for most people. But now that theyre gone, we cant exactly help now can we?

It would nice to see what was so rude and sarcastic or to see what kind of work you had people critiquing, but it's all gone now.

Like all things in life, you will run across people you don't like, but you can't let a few unhelpful comments make you tuck your tail and run.

I think she is refering to other critques, ones that sometimes are jokes when submitted and get a slew of comments.

The important thing was, were you getting those remarks?

someone needs to lay off the crazy juice.

no, i'm sorry, i was just kidding. please don't go.
but you know who else probably wasn't kidding?
that person who left you a nice comment whom you assumed was sarcastic.
if the person said it's nice then that person probably doesn't see the flaws that you see. and i don't know about you, but i take any compliments i can get.
and as for rude comments, this is an internet community, and it's bound to happen about every 3 seconds. other biting remarks are the result of the public speaking. what these people are deciding are the mass production of many shirts to buy and sell. that costs lots of money. people need to see what others think about that before they go out and make them. it may be cruel, but it's a lot more honest than what you might find in the critiques section.
just keep your head and keep going. to be completely honest, you're gonna have to suck it up a bit.

/So you demand people tell you what to improve? That's what you're saying? /

isn't the whole point of critiquing to tell you what you could improve on? Or am I misunderstanding? I mean really. It's just like with writing, you seldom miss your own mistakes until someone else points them out or they give you an idea on how to improve.

/but the only comment i saw in your one critique was something like "good work, i think it's ready for subbing" to which you replied "i wish i could take off these sarcastic comments."/

there were more but somehow the other submission I put in about a week and a half ago was removed O_o so I resubmitted it but on the original one a lot of people we're a little sarcastic like 'it looks like something a kid would color' etc. I still don't know how it got removed honestly.

^ and I mean for anyone who puts their two cents into any submission that's being critiqued. Not everyone who is a non-dead member of Threadless

Hmmmmm. All I can say is, if your mind is made up then good luck to you elsewhere. I can't really comment anymore based on recollection since everything was removed.

some people are just not good at/miss the point of critiquing. that doesn't mean they're being sarcastic.

Is one thing to want and expect comments, but you can't really demand them, taht's just stupid. It's like I started demanding people to vote on $5 on all my subs and Threadless to print them.

Besides, critiques won't magically turn your design into a winner. They might help with details and stuff, but if you don't have a solid idea/style since the start there won't be that much diffrence when it comes to the voting stage.

Also if you truly want to improve you have to be self-critical, and keep practicing, and look up to great artists/illustrators/designers for inspiration and challenge. Relying on strangers to improve yourself is not a good idea.
