about Cyclope
I'm red-green colorblind: colors are rarely a problem, but the deficiency rears its head from time to time. Worst thing is not being barred from fighter pilot or ship captain dreams, although little frustrations can get to you too: in 3rd grade I drew a Christmas tree with green trunk and brown needles. To this day, I fear being put on the spot to name or draw colors like those on that Xmas tree.Red/green and pink/blue 3D glasses have also leave me out in the 2D cold while the other kids rejoiced in that wondrous new world. So when I saw this poor one-eyed fellow, left hanging with the useless pair of 3D glasses, it struck a chord with me. Cyclope's plight is universal, and while the deficiency of partial colorblindness is impossible to communicate, I feel that this shirt brings the general population a bit closer to understand the ~4% who don't see color so good. Thanks to Cyclope and the designer, my heart goes out to you both. |
