how do I make GIF thumbnail file 10kb?

I'm trying to submit my first design to be critiqued but I'm having trouble getting the thumbnail image to be under 10kb. I have the image in photoshop with a 100 x 70 pixel size, but when I save the image as a GIF, the smallest size I can get the file to be is 64kb. Any help? thanks!

save for web....that should dramatically decrease the size of the file.
