Michael Hussar. Just wanted to point out how marvelous I think his artworks are.

Yeh his images have a certain twisted nature, which is quite intruiging, definitely not for everyone though. Personally i prefer artists like Francis Bacon, because i just find their images more thought provoking, Study after Velázquez's Portrait of Pope Innocent X still creeps me out ;) (im assuming you know Bacon, if not you should check him out!).

I didn't know about Bacon, though I checked him out. (Google rarely does art justice) I think I still like Mr. Hussar's work better but Mr. Bacon's art was interesting. You can't really compare them.

Hoping I don't sound to oblivious; I like how you get tips and names to other interesting things through these blogs.

no thats cool Nymeria! I guess you cant really compare them but i just find myself looking at more artists like Bacon and less artists like Hussar if you get what i mean. I think its because im getting old hehe. You dont sound oblivious either, im still finding artists i like and knew nothing of :o)

Haha, great. I also really enjoy the works of Robert ParkeHarrison, even though he's a photographer.

It's past four in the afternoon here in Sweden, so I though that it was a late deal for breakfast now. Then I remebered. ^^

Don't forget all the music in the Mamma Mia! movie.

I looked those artists up. They are disturbing. I think Bacon has the benefit of being more abstract, so potentially not quite as disturbing because you need to use your imagination a bit more. Although potentially he can wind up being more disturbing if you imagine it that way.

i much prefer hussar, bacon reminds me of de Kooning, different but provokes the same thoughts in me.

if you like hussar you may also like Mark Ryden, sorry if you already know his art. you might not.. lol.

Haha yes, Sweden. You forgot volvo and that every girl here is actually named Ingrid.

I don't think that either artist is disturbing in a sense that I don't want to watch it anymore, though I agree.

I think they're quite marvelous and especially the style of Michael Hussar is monstrously fascinating.

My ex girlfriend (Norwegian) used to get a parcel from her folks every month with loads of salty sweets in it. I think everything over here in the UK has about 3x more sugar in it ;)

hehe :) sorry its just i think salty candy def belongs in a blog with the title 'Pleasantly Disturbing'.

Haha, I agree. The title isn't really set on anything specific.

I thought all you ate in britain was lousy sandwiches (to repent for comitted sins), and tea.

Since I've stuck on nationality stereotypes I'm using all I know about britain. AKA all I've read about it in the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

Well the Tea part is definitely right, we drink loads of it! Ive had Koldtbord which is very similar to smörgåsbord yes? Which was actualy fairly similar to how my family have a traditional English Sunday roast.

I think I spat on the screen from laughing so hard. Where the hell did that come from? ^^ I can't put my finger on it but it's slightly disturbing that the emphasis is on 'this'.

Ah, I've only ever been to london, and I only did strict touristy stuff then so I know very little about brits in general.

Hahahaha. Now that I think about it, brits must have the best sense of humour ever, they just hide it very well; Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett & Rowan Atkinson.

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.

All about me

I go to school but work parttime at a torture shop AKA beauty salon. It's awful so I try to spend as much time here on this site as possible while working.

I'm a legitimate bookworm and try to read anything handed to me.
I have no drawing talent whatsoever so I try not to drool to heavily when I go through the catalogue.

I'm also a Swede and everything you've heard is true. We have polarbears roaming the streets and everybody's house is only furnished with IKEA furniture and they all drive a Volvo.

I own:
-The Last Piece. Sumos fighting over sushi, priceless.
-I Wish I Were.
-Yeti Hated His Size Feet, I have man-feet so I can't sympathize, but it's still a awesome T.
- Darwin Kick, actually wore it to a kung fu practice. Created a couple of chuckles. ^^

I've ordered:
-Sinister Dexter.
-Flowers in the attic.
-Rock n Work
-HEEEEAAAVYYY METAL
-Spiritual Symphony.
