Yes I do but unfortunately not on my head :-) after 5 years I needed a break, have grown my hair out long now though....
But I still love dreads, best hairstyle in the world :-)

i haven't yet but i would. she's done 95% of the work herself. she went to a pro once to help tuck in the loose hairs and trim a bit, otherwise she's in charge of it.

when do you cut your plants? what color is the resin yellowish? brownish? clear?

It used to take Lonneke about six hours to maintain mine, She enjoyed it, but eventually we were both tired of them...

I have no co-ordintion in my hands if i can't see them, and i just ended up making a mess if i tried, She did a way better job anyway :-)

Its not a low maintenance haircut like many think!

nope. and those who think their dreads are low maintenance...well, their dreads look badly most of the time. when they're clean and well taken care of they're badass.

The balls on the top of the trichomes should be clear, visible through a microscope, but i don't get that specific, i just look at the hairs

i've read about the different colors and if you wait longer or cut sooner it will create or remove a "ceiling high"

meaning, if you smoke a certain strain sometimes you can only catch a certain buzz and never...improve on it for lack of a better term

othertimes, you can keep reaching the flowers full potential if you don't cut it too late

Ya the problem i always had was getting them dry, when they were shorter it was ok but as they gor longer, they seemed to take forever to dry, and sometimes in cold wet weather got a bit smelly. Well maintained dreads don;t smell and look amazing!

I have never been that scientific about the cutting date,

In terms of buzz I prefer the milder varieties with less stone and more high. This happens to also be such a variety according to the guy who id'ed it for me. The seed came from him as well he grew it last year from a cutting from a breeder...

i'm just getting into myself and i'm learning from a friend who had some relative success until...well he got in a little trouble.

sounds like you prefer the sativa to the indica. i'm the same. currently, there's a strain around here called Private Reserve. it's...great. everytime i say hello it says good day.
