... when I saw this design was:

"It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees"

From the song "Thousand Trees" by the Stereophonics.

I like that song and therefor I like this shirt. :)

I think it was deliberately based on that song. :)

yeah, first thing i thought as well. they changed it to 10,000 which sort of suggests they're aware of their own plagiarism. oh well. enjoy the money, sir.

Plagiarism? Are you serious? References and homages are not the same as plagiarism.

man i need to read EVERYTHING before saying stuff. however, it's slightly a little more than "inspired" i should say. it's essentially just a diagram of the hook from the song. and not in a biggie was right sort of way, cause that's at least a parody and not a literal same meaning same translation pictorial version of what the artist was saying. ok, done.

I think Biggie Was Right was exactly that - "a literal same meaning same translation pictorial version of what the artist was saying". And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's a pop-culture reference, and an interpretation of the idea in a new format. And in this case, it's spreading the message that the artist wanted to get across. So yay!

Yes, I thought automatically of the song and then I read the description - it is based off a thousand trees.

^PS, that wasn't actually the message of the song. The 1000 trees bit was a metaphor about rumours.

I wasn't sure if it was a saying or not, that's why I said it reminded me of the song. I'm dutch, so I'm not aware of all English sayings. But that's an oldie then?

hi everybody...plagiarism? i am a little sad that people think about plagiarism with this design, it's a tribute, an illustration of a few words. That was the forst thing i said when i submitted it... Anyway...i'm still glad, it' s not my favorite design, but being printed on Threadless is a REALLY special feeling

i think that stereophonics would probably be proud to have someone use their lyrics as inspiration for a shirt.
plagarism or not.
