... does anyone ever come to Threadless... start voting & then just be overwhelmed by sadness... it seems like those brilliant designs seem to be spaced out in ever widening gaps... it takes a good couple of designs before you see something even barely passable... & there are sooooo sooooo many that just make you want to gouge the illustrator's eyes out...& seal them up in concrete... & steel & sink them to the bottom of the Atlantic... i've only been voting for a while now & i have a comprehensive list of cliches that keep resurfacing on here...now i'm not going to be the first to cast a stone by any means... i don't consider myself a good enough illustrator for mass market shirt designs... but there are some that clearly do... so if anyone feels that someone's design needs to be brutally consigned to the bowels of the internet... feel free to link to it here... alternatively feel free to ignore this as immature cynicism...

Aside fromt he obviously stolen, I don't think all those subs are 0 worthy, ginette.

i don't think giving a 1 to a really bad design is help at all though edword, i mean it's a nice gesture but commenting on their sub and giving them a nice critique/pointers does a lot more help then giving a 0+1

maybe not to you but it's how I perceive them to be worth, we all have different opinions and different methods of rating.
just out of curiousity though, what would you have rated them? a 1 or more?

something you might vote a 1 might get a 2 from me so i don't see the way i'm voting as wrong.

... i think there is room for constructive critiscism in a lot of cases... there have been times that it has been late & i may have been tired and cranky & the word's "80's male prostitute from an animated Phil Collins video " may have made it into a comment from me... but if i can see real effort & thought has gone into it i do vote higher than zero...

I do agree with that- if you're gonna score low, at least try to help out the submitter or your score becomes a moot point and the submitter never grows.

mmm, i think if there's a design so bad it truly deserves a 0 no pointers will actually help it

hehe ginette there have been many times ive read through the comments on a sub and gone... ok she has it covered... i think the voting process is very subjective but by and large the unwashed masses will win...

Scored it a 2:
unifart - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

I'm not saying your score is right or wrong, ginette.

Hell just going though putting together a presentation is worth a 1 in my eye. Where does 0 end and 1 start? I hold my 0's for rip off's.

It's not about helping the design; it's about helping the designer improve, so that maybe their next sub doesn't suck as much.

isn't it also about voting for what you would and wouldn't want to wear / see printed?

That's what the dollar sign is for, lydia, not exactly the numbers.

I've given 3$ before....with the idea that I thought the art/design itself was conventionally just "ok" but it was effective enough to wear.

"How do I score submissions?
To score submissions, you simply need to join the Threadless community, navigate to the 'score submissions' section and begin scoring. Score each shirt on a scale of 0-5 (0 being bad)...."

I gave unifart a 2 as well..

and I zeroed the one that tora posted..

the problem with giving criticism on the subs is that a lot of people don't take it very well.. the best thing to do would be to tell them to submit their next sub to critiques before submitting for voting. and tell them there.
