I've been a little busy the past couple of weeks, with work and a convention weekend and play and a couple of new tee-shirt projects. I never really finished the Critique I put up last month.
Now I have 2 or 3 new ideas I'm working on so none of them are getting the proper attention they need. Part of the problem is my lack of skill. I can only barely draw and it never comes out the way I want. I simply work with the best I can do after a dozen tries or if I'm desperate, I'll whine at my sister to draw it for me. But I can't really explain what I see in my mind so it's hard for her to draw what I want either. So it's slow goings. I'm having second thoughts about my last version submitted for Critique. If anyone has a thought or idea about it, feel free to comment. I'm having trouble with an idea that I would love to see printed. My sister encouraged me to work on it but I'm kinda stumped because of my lack of skillz. I can't figure out how to draw a 3d heart. Now I have another project started.... I think I need to get a better schedule so I can complete these projects. I guess we'll see how that works out.
I made some changes to my design that I would like to submit for the Loves Lomo so if you could check it out and give me some feedback tonight that would be great!!
http://www.threadless.com/critique/23553/Lomography_Rule_4 In my last blog I asked for people to take a look and a shield gave a link to a blog that made me rethink it. The lines seemed too mechanical. Like the lines weren't soft enough in some areas that it looked fairly bland. I learned from that (with help from my sister) that its the imperfections, at least in part, that make a piece of art attractive. Absolutely perfect lines make it look too blocky. So I softened the edges of the squares and grunged the rest up a bit. Let me know if you think it was an improvement or not. Thanks
Ok. I've had my design up for a bit for critique and the deadline for the Loves Lomo is Saturday; I believe now is the time to begin preparations for actual submission.
So does anyone have tips for a first-time sub? ______________ Check out my Critique: http://www.threadless.com/critique/23553/Lomography_Rule_4
Is there somewhere on the website where the available tee shirt colors are listed? Or can anyone tell me?
I have a design that I think I'm about ready to submit but it seems easier for people to judge when they can see it on the prospective shirt. So I'm trying to prepare such. _________________________________ Check out my critique: http://www.threadless.com/critique/23553/Lomography_Rule_4 NEWLY UPDATED!
I don't know if there is some way to be able to tell how many people have looked at a Critique but I wanted to make one last effort to get some feedback.
PLEASE!!!! Take a look at my Work in Progress and let me know of ANYTHING that needs changed or whatever. I would like to submit it on Wednesday, July 2. So speak your piece. I've seen some of the other submissions for the Loves Lomo contest and I'm not sure that mine is a winner per say but it's still pretty good. Good enough that I would like to see it in print. That's the question I bear in mind as I design Tees:Would I wear it. I would wear this one. Would you? http://www.threadless.com/critique/23553/Lomography_Rule_4
I have tried several times to download the Kit but it says that it is invalid or corrupt.
I have a couple of designs I'd like to put up for critique but I don't know that you can without the template.... I've sent in a question but no one has gotten back with me so I thought I would ask the community. Perhaps someone could email it to me or something... I don't know. That's why I'm asking. about A Voyage of Discovery
I love to read and I try to encourage other people, especially kids, to pick up a book every once in a whileThis is on my list to buy. about Partly Hungry Skies
I love this shirt!
I'm working on a project for a t-shirt. I made most of it last weekend and hurriedly printed it out to an iron-on sheet, had my sister cut it out (cause she's got the skills), and then we ironed it to a blue shirt I got specifically for the image. Then we went to a Super Bowl party for which we arrived "fashionably late".
I love the shirt and so did everyone else at the party (about 20 people) so I decided to tweak it a little and submit it here and see how everyone in Nude No More Land likes it. I haven't quite finished the tweak. It goes a little slow with me since I have the drawing aptitude of an 8 year old. As soon as it's ready, it'll be up here so keep an eye out for my shirt submission. And while you're here at my profile, check out the slogan I put in. Someone said it a the party and I thought it would make an awesome slogan-T. Thanks |
I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
