Saturday April 18th

Real Life Superheroes came together to confront the drug dealers out in Washington Square Park. Deaths Head Moth thought of the idea and we worked to put it together. It wound up being myself(Dark Guardian), Deaths Head Moth, Life, Phantom Zero, Nyx, Z, Citizen Smoke, Runebringer, Scavanger, The Cameraman, Civitron, & Green Sage. We also had a few people with cameras.

We all met up and headed over to the park via the subway. There were a lot of reactions from the public. Most were positive.

Once we were over near the park we sent Citizen Smoke and a friend into the park to scope it out and get information (who’s dealing, how many, located where, etc.). They were offered 8 balls(coke), crack, & weed. There were a lot of dealers out. There were 15 plus out in the park. They dealers were out in full effect tonight. It was the nicest day weather wise this year, it was a saturday, there were fairs going on in the city, and the city was packed. It was a big money making night for these scumbags.

We were getting ready to go confront the dealers when two cops come over to me and say ,hey we know who you are and what you do. I was shocked. I told them I follow the law and respect what they do. They said they wanted to speak with me and I was not in any trouble. They asked if I would come with them. I said I would be happy to. The cameraman came along with me.

We headed over to the precinct which was for special operations. We had a good conversation with the cops in the car. We get to the precinct and walk in, to my surprise everyone in there knows who I am. A female officer looks over and says, I thought you’d be taller. We went into the office. We met with the lieutenant and other officers. They had heard about what I was doing and saw the videos online and were concerned for my safety. They had respect for what I do, but don’t want me to get killed. Most the guys out in the park have been arrested over 50 times. They carry guns and are hardened criminals. They come in from Brooklyn. The big guy I confronted in a video had been shot in the head and is still out there. One officer said they couldn’t get that guy to leave. They advised against me doing this but didn’t say I couldn’t. They are concerned for my safety and concerned about what could happen if things escalate.

They police were genuine, sincere, and respectful. They do as much as they can. They are constantly making arrest out there. I gave them my information. The lieutenant gave me his card. I am going to call to see how I can help them make a difference in the park. I gained a greater respect for the police.

Cameraman and I caught a cab back to meet back up with the team. Civitron and Green Sage left. I was really thrown off by what had just happened. I was ready to call it a night, but I had a mission and wasn’t giving up. The team came together and we went towards the park. I had my megaphone out we approached a dealer. Citizen Smoke had a good conversation with him asking him to stop and telling him he should and could do better with his life. We descended into the center area of the corner where most the dealers were staying. I get on the megaphone and say “no more drugs in the park” “We will not Stand for this” . I tell them to leave, they don’t initially leave so I tell them good luck selling with us out here, me on the megaphone, our people with cameras and flashlights. The dealers got pissed. One guy was yelling and cursing in what I think was jamaican. We stood our ground and got most of them to leave.

We were hurting thier business on a big night. A guy comes over and starts yelling at the dealers for getting bitched around by us. This would be thier captain. They are a crime organization and have hiearchy. This guy was in charge of these dealers at Washington Square. He was yelling at them and then turned his attention to us. He wouldn’t get close to us though. He yelled threats, said he remmbers faces, he will make us pay, pointing, cursing, blah blah blah. The dealers left the benches and we took over. There were times where I was worried about something going down. I was thinking we may get shot at. Nothing did happen though. We stood our ground and got the majority to leave.

We took a stand. We put a hurting on thier business for the night. We did what we could and then left. We walked through the city a bit. They were sending lackies to follow us a bit. They didn’t follow long. We helped some homeles as we walked through. We headed back and called it a night.

I was honored to work with such courageous individuals. I have to thank everyone who came out on this night.

We did good on this night. Bigger things will be coming.
