Hi fellow designers or buyers,

I submitted the design [link] below 3 days ago and would love it if anyone could answer my question. 'Pixtoons' said that my design was made using RGB [or appears to be] but it was actually done using CMYK.

My question is though, does anyone have or know of any examples where simulated process has been used whereby the design is REALLY bright...

how effective is simulated process with similarities of design.
I was confident that it simulated process would be the best option but i have only seen the designs not the actual finished product..
Does anyone know where i could find some designs to see what the limits of brightness actually are.

Thanks.

Hi,

I am looking to edit a design i have so it is more suitable for simulated press. From what i have read this is a really interesting and super bright medium for printing.

My design is below

Tree of Life

My concern is that although it looks fairly straight forward [greens, blues, yellows and whites] how complex would this actually be to print. Even though the design isn't completed the variation in colour is what brings it to life.

I use both illustrator and photoshop and at this stage i'm reverting between the two.
Once i have completed making the changes in illustrator, how do i then, in photoshop tell the program what colours will be used in the printing process....

I have used duo-tone and tri-tone for designs using CMYK but this is way over my head.... Do i index the colours, or is there a specific button that i have to press... i really have no idea.
Anyone who uses photoshop i'd really appreciate the help..

Even if i don't need to worry about it, it would still be good to understand what i can do from my end..

and one more thing.......does threadless have their own printers, and why for simulated is it limited to 8......when it can go up to 12 or more???

thanks.

I just wanted to raise a subconscious issue that i have [well conscious now anyway], plus i am new to the site.

Do you need to promote your own design in order to even likely succeed at a print or will the fan community be honest enough to vote? I don't have a lot of friends..hahah ... what i meant was friends in the design arena. I usually keep design seperate from all my other crazy friends and i'm not going to effectively spam them when i believe they would have no interest in the site.

Plus it appears that everyone has there own blog sites these days, myspace, facebook etc etc. I'm only new to facebook and i'm 'trying' to set up a blog but will these impede the number of votes or am i being unrealistic..Can anyone measure the success of their voting on their personal advertising and campaigning.

How effective is it to have a personal blog. I am more than happy to advertise over the net, but i'm not going to force my friends to vote for something which A) they don't like or B) have no intention in joining the site???

i hope everyone is following my logic, if it's logic at all... maybe it's just schizophrenia.

cheers..
