I was super excited to post on this here threadless. However, the wait was longer than my design lived... I was nervous about how well my design would do, I had read about the new "1.5 rule" and changes to it. I am skeptical as to how designs are actually "declined". If we have to wait "4-8 business days" to have our design up for voting, then why is it on a Saturday a submission can be dropped? Also, when submitting, these "rules" are not actually posted for all fresh newbies, such as myself, to view before submitting. What is the point of having voting, a democratic form of deliberating, if threadless employees are acting as a heiarchy and choosing according to their own standards??

In the end, I think you got some valuable advice on your submission. I say spend some more time on your idea and resub it.

Good luck!

a formula dropped your sub, not an actual person, don't take it personally.

yea it is disappointing if one of your subs (that you worked hard on) gets dropped early. One of my first designs was dropped too, you just have to keep going. lol i said hard on. anyways, good luck

Don't be discouraged .. just get back to the drawing board. As bananaphone said, it's a formula that decides if your design is dropped early.

If you knew the rule beforehand, would it have stopped your design from being dropped?

Would you not have submitted at all?

Of course not. You'd just have known a rule.

Now you know the rule for the next time you sub.

So get back out there and keep trying.

I hope this doesn't discourage you. It's just been unfortunate. To be fair, there are usually quite a lot of people checking the web site out at the weekends, so I don't think it matters what day it goes up. I think they have so many subs that they changed the rules to try and get rid of the least popular ones earlier. Keep subbing!

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
