I've been a scoring member of Threadless since December 07 and am hooked. I'm here every day.
But... I'm confused by the selection process. There are five shirts that have been printed that I voted on.
One scored a 2.93 with 64 comments.
One scored a 2.71 with 107 comments.
One scored a 2.84 with 120 comments.
One scored a 2.59 with 39 comments
One scored a 2.12 with 25 comments.

What I want to know is how shirts with better scores and more comments submitted at the same time haven't seen print. For example:
3.24 with 129: http://www.threadless.com/submission/146245/Liberty

I swear... if Renaissance (3.42 with 130) http://www.threadless.com/submission/148894/Renaissance
doesn't get printed, I'm loosing ALL faith in Threadless.

Can anyone help me understand the selection process a little better? Thanks.
Heather

it isnt all about the score, i guess, is the simple vague answer

there are about one million factors going into the selection of t-shirts. the longer you stick around, the more you learn.

you know, being vague is almost as much fun as doing this other thing

Hopefully the ones you want will be printed. Sometimes it takes an age, but it's a great feeling you can can finally buy one you $5'd.

I've found somewhere on the site an explanation that it's a combination of score, comments and "I'd buy" checks. I can only assume (since I can't see the info or stats) that a shirt with 130 comments is going to have more "I'd buy" checks than a shirt with 25.

So confused.

Wow, that's one of the lowest average scores I've seen.

Sometimes threadless just knows what will sell, and they're usually right.

not necessarily! keep in mind that bloggers and people that comment make up a relatively small percentage of the total number of voters.
