Nice guy, good history, not a fan of his solo stuff, not too engaging as a personality.

I meant, what does everyone think of him walking off a TV show, mid taping, just because they had a contractual agreement for Ringo to cut his song to fit within a certain time frame, and Ringo didn't like that?

Ringo starr spends too much time telling people how great he is.

He was a bit of an arse on the Johnathon Ross show the other night, and he when I saw him at the opening of the Capital of Culture, he just did one song and that was just to plug his new single. Liked him in the Beatles etc, but he can be a big of an ego sometimes.

Once, the Proclaimers were on Rove, and they got one verse into their song from Shrek and a piano fell on them.

They should've let him do what he wanted and then dropped a piano on him.

LacyT-Shirt on Jan 23 '08 at 5:40am
Yes kidder, that's what he was doing on Regis too, promoting his song. I figure if they will give you two minutes (or however long it was), then it's great exposure. Why complain?

Squatterjohn, you crack me up! Good one!
kidderliverpool
kidderliverpool on Jan 23 '08 at 5:49am
Yeah, it's not good to go round throwing a hissy strop, and most stuff like that comes back to you, i.e you won't be asked back to promote a sub-par song.

Agree he came across as an arse on Jonathan Ross, & at first I thought he was Robin Gibb. His new song is a load of cheesy sentimental wank.

Interesting info Kidder. Figured you would know that, with a nickname such as yours. I haven't heard the song, just ran across the article while reading the news.

It's a rubbish song & he was never the greatest singer or drummer. He's also a real bighead - Thomas was the best thing he ever did.
Hi Kidder - I'm just across the water!

No worries @ Lacy, my uncle went to infant school with him, but I bet everyone in Liverpool says that ;)

squirrel, I've just got to say........... I LOVE your cow! It looks like a puppet. Did you make this? I need to know the story behind it or else I'll never be able to sleep!

Still not sure what the "Thomas" reference is about in regards to Ringo. Anyone want to clue me in?
LacyT-Shirt

lol Kidder. Nope, you're the first person to tell me that! And what exactly is "infant school?"

squatterjohn on Jan 23 '08 at 6:20am
I saw it on Letterman. Don't think he walked off that and he wasn't interviewed so don't know if he's been a bighead lately, but I do remember thinking the song was just a bit of a shallow cash-in on the success of The Beatles.
kidderliverpool
kidderliverpool on Jan 23 '08 at 6:21am
Infant school is were you would go from ages 5-7 @ Lacy.
Thomas reference is in regards to Ringo doing the narration for Thomas the Tank Engine.

The wee cow is a pawn from my chess set, I made them out of fimo & each one has a different face. The King & Queen are on milking stools and the eyes move; it makes chess fun - I'm not a good player btw.

Thomas is "thomas the Tank Engine", a kids animation about steam trains in Wales.

But he cry cry cries in his lonely heart
Thinking, if there's nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?

He's the arms of a T-Rex. Nobody cares about a t-rex's arms, that's not the appeal of the t-rex. They're just sort of there, and if another set of arms were there it wouldn't make a difference.

Thx for the info about Ringo in regards to Thomas the Tank. We have Thomas the Tank also, but I don't believe they use Ringo's voice. Maybe I'm wrong. I'll have to IMD it to find out.

I was a sailor first, I sailed the sea
Then I got a job, in a factory
Played Butlin's Camp with my friend Rory
It was good for him, it was great for me

Livepool I left you, said 'goodbye' to Madryn Street
I always followed my heart, and I never missed a beat
Destiny was calling, I just couldn't stick around
Liverpool I left you, but I never let you down

Went to Hamburg, the red lights were on
With George & Paul, and my friend John
We rocked all night, we all looked tough
We didn't have much, but we had enough

Livepool I left you, said 'goodbye' to Madryn Street

I always followed my heart, and I never missed a beat
Destiny was calling, I just couldn't stick around
Liverpool I left you, but I never let you down

In the U.S.A. when we played Shea
We were Number One, and it was fun
When I look back, it sure was cool
For those Four Boys from Liverpool

Livepool I left you, said 'goodbye' to Admiral Grove
I always followed my heart, so I took it on the road
Destiny was calling, I just couldn't stick around
Liverpool I left you, but I never let you down

La la la la la la....Liverpool

Ringo Starr was the narrator on Thomas the Tank Engine for the first few years. Most recently it has been done by PIerce Brosnan. I believe Alec Baldwin did it (he definitely played the no-longer-fat controller in the Magic Railroad movie) but this may only be in the US. Perhaps Ringo never did it in the US.

I voted, Lacy. some good one in there but I'd take care "Wouldn't it be great if life had a Control/Alt/Delete button?" It's been said before in a less clumsy fashion. But you've got simple charm, which is rare on this shit mound.

SQ, thanks a bunch for the info about the colours.

By the way, I actually met Pierce Brosnan last time I was in Hawaii. He owns a home there on Kaui. Very cool guy. He was very laid back, and nice. Wasn't ever really a big fan of his, but WOW is he super good looking in person!

Gee - In a less clumsy fashion? I'm clumsy? Waaaaah. Although you're right, I am clumsy! I play volleyball, you wouldn't believe how many bones I've broken playing the game!

Thx, I think, about the "simple charm." Simple charm in what way? (thinking to myself that I'd like to charm the pants off of geewally, but that would be inappropriate to type that)
geewally

I meant the cadence and word choice of the slogan is just a bit clumsy, not that you are actually clumsy. (But charm me, dear girl. Charm me.)
