Hey, I have a thought (hooray, me)...

I've learned that often it's better to phrase things for slogans in as simple a way as possible. There are sometimes slogans that work when 'junked up' with extra words, but nowadays I try both stripping slogans back as much as possible and over-stating them in my usual, instinctive way... just to see which sounds better.

So, I'm wondering if this one of yours...

I sometimes apply my video game heroics to real life situations.

...might work even better if 'sometimes' and 'my' and 'situations' were stripped out of it. I like the slogan as-is, but think the stripped down version is really 'strong' sounding, which carries the idea through into how it is phrased.

If you have already made this kind of comparison yourself, never mind.

bygrinstow, the funny thing is that I've been bothered by that slogan ever since I put it up. I never wanted to use "sometimes" at all, I just couldn't fit "occasionally" as it went over the character limit. I also agree, the my should go. Right now it's doing ok, not as good as I'd like but I'll definitely resub a better version later. Thanks a lot for the helpful input!

How about 'cracking under pressure can break your bones'? Although I like the original too :) I like your slogans in general, but I think some of them would sound better stripped down (I have the same problem too sometimes).
